Privacy Policy for the mobile app «Circles»

1. General provisions

Welcome to Circles! This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect information obtained from you when you use our mobile application «Circles» (hereinafter — the "App").

2. What information we collect

Circles is a cognitive training game that respects your privacy. We deliberately do not collect or store personal data (such as email address or phone number). We collect and store a minimal amount of anonymized data necessary to provide game mechanics and the leaderboard.

We collect the following types of data:

  • Authorization data (gamification): You can create a game account by providing only a nickname (alias) and a password. Your password is securely hashed with a "salt" on your device before being sent. This protects your account and prevents us from obtaining your actual password.
  • Game progress: We store your achievements: completed levels, stars earned per level, and best completion time. This is necessary to track your progress and unlock new levels. Your game progress is stored locally on your device.
  • High scores: Your best results for each game mode are stored in the leaderboard. For this purpose we also store your nickname.

3. How we use the information

We use the collected information solely for:

  • Ensuring the operation of the App (authorisation, progress saving).
  • Displaying the global leaderboard.
  • Analysing user behaviour to improve the App (using Yandex Metrica).

4. Data storage and transfer

Game progress is stored locally on your device in a secure Room database.
Leaderboard data (nickname, password hash, records) is stored in a cloud database on our server in Russia (Beget).
For statistics collection we use «Yandex Metrica». Yandex Metrica may collect anonymised information about your device (model, OS version, connection type) and your actions within the App (screen events). This information is transferred and stored on servers of Yandex LLC and is used to improve the App. You can learn more about Yandex Metrica's privacy policy by following this link.
We do not sell, exchange or transfer your data to third parties, except as required by law.

5. Your rights

You may at any time:

  • Delete your game account: Use the «Delete account» function in the «Leaderboard» section. All your leaderboard data will be deleted.
  • Reset local progress: By deleting the app from your device.
  • Log out of your account: Use the «Log out» function in the App settings.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorised access.

7. Children's data

Our App has an age rating of 0+ and is not designed to collect personal data from users.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
